One of the growing concerns of the world today is the rapid evolution of technology. What looked like the future suddenly seems like a threat but that is for previous generations to conclude. For the coming generations, this might just be the opportunity needed. We may get to see our children and grandchildren growing and changing along with the times. That has already begun, the question remains if there is a place for the upcoming.
There is. Thanks to the internet, the working class are not the only ones who get to earn income. Children as young as thirteen can begin doing something for money from the comfort of their own homes. Parents are still right to worry though. The internet is prowling with predators on the lookout for the innocent, unassuming youth. This is why we will highlight some safe and legit ways for teenagers to make money.
1. Writing

This seems like the first port of call and the response could always be, “I’m not a writer”. While that may be true, there is nothing that cannot be learned. Besides, writing varies. It doesn’t always have to be professional and clean cut, also with the help of A.I, you can get assistance with your flow.
Ghost writing is popular among the youths especially with fiction. You can find some on Upwork and even Fiverr, or you can just get hired by a writing platform. Platforms like WebNovel and Wattpad do offer the premium feature that enables writers to earn from their writing.
If fiction is not your thing, you can offer your services to blogs who look for willing writers. Klarecon is one such example of recruiting writers. You would have to go through a series of tests but in the end, you make bucks.
2. Art

There seems to be several gifted teens in the circle of art making. Now, rather than wait to become a world famous artist like Picasso, you can start by getting paid for your gift. You can create art stories that are mostly referred to as Comics. Then we have platforms like WebToons, Tapas and Patreon who create the platform for creators like you to earn from what you do.
You can also go into making children’s books, if you have the zeal for it. Colouring books and short fables also get monetized. You may need to go into publishing for that though, but do not fear. That is what self-publishing services like Kindle Publishing are9 for.
3. Reviews

Giving book reviews is also a way to make money. If you are a reader with a penchant for discovering new things maybe this is for you. Platforms like Online Book Club, Kirkus Reviews, and Booklist pay for your time. They each have their qualifications and requirements but it still remains that you have high chances of getting paid.
There is no guarantee that all books you’d review would be awesome and thrilling, but at least, there is compensation for the time and effort into reading and of course, writing feedback. If you feel you have no experience, we advise you read some great reviews of books online to get yourself inclined to this line of work.
4. Airdrops & Testnets
While crypto isn’t relatively safe, it is still money nonetheless and thanks to the rapid global market, there are now ways to earn without having to invest. We have seen the evolution of tapping games. Some made a massive turnout and others were just that, a massive waste of time.
Finding the right airdrops is not easy and might not be possible all the time. Involving yourself however, increases your chances of earning some free cash. Most airdrops require little to nothing in expense and testnets may just require your time.
5. Streaming/Video Content
This is a no-brainer and has to be the most common. Teens start early, leveraging platforms like Youtube and Twitch to push out content that gets them paid. TikTok is now such a platform too where views get you paid.
You just have to decide a niche. A tip is starting with the trend and then creating your own brand as time goes on. Following accounts that get paid and observing what they do can help you grow your content.
Another tip is using Web3. Platforms like the Hive Blockchain have their very own video niche support in the form of 3Speak. The best part of this is that you can earn as soon as you sign up.
6. Virtual Assistant
This isn’t only done by adults. Teens as old as 17-19 can get into the world of Virtual Assistance and earn from it, especially if they like to help other people. The corporate world has a never ending demand for willing workers, and once a person (teen or not) has the basic skills, all they need to do is grow it.
Being a Virtual Assistant is not as tedious a process as it would seem. Yes, you would need to undergo some form of training to have the foundational skills but, with time you get better and earn more too.
7. Gaming

The game world is very vast. Places like China, the United States and Japan make revenues from gaming as it is seen as a source of livelihood. Over the years, it has become accepted globally, especially web3 games. Games like Splinterlands and dCity offer a way for everyone to earn from playing. There are more games in web3 and all it takes is for someone to discover it.
